Our Story
Tuesday night deserves linen napkins just as much as Thanksgiving.
Dottie Rae began the way the best things usually do — at a table, with good food, and a feeling that something was missing. Not the food. Not the company. Just the right napkin.
Everything is made in small batches in Portland, Oregon, and finished by hand. We tie every set in our own ribbon, because the way something arrives matters too.
A note from the founder
This started with one napkin and a dinner party.
I’ve always believed the details are what people remember. Not the elaborate centerpiece — the small, considered things. The napkin with the unexpected print. The ribbon on the bundle. The way the table looked before anyone sat down. Dottie Rae is my attempt to make those details easier to find, and more worth finding.
What started as a small obsession with handmade linen napkins has grown into something a little bigger — a collection for people who love to gather, who appreciate a beautiful detail, and who believe the everyday is worth dressing up for.
We source fabrics with care: toiles and ginghams and bold botanicals, vintage-inspired prints and quietly elegant plains. We take custom orders because your table is different from everyone else’s. We keep the batches small because that is the only way to keep them good. And we put our name on a ribbon because we are proud of what we make.
Dottie Rae is for the hosts, the gatherers, the people who set the table early because they love the way it looks. It’s for anyone who believes that using the good napkins every night is a better way of living.
